Yet another stunning new signing from the Lemongrassmusic universe. With Paul Eerhart the label’s spice expands with an excitingly fresh nuance of jazz flavoured tunes. Be prepared for finest Smooth Jazz with Hip-Hop, Latin and Lounge influences, played by an excellent ensemble of musicians.

On fairly young age Paul Eerhart discovered his passion for playing the guitar. It came in a rush when he was 16 years old and heard Mark Knopfler and the Dire Straits playing on an English radio station. Soon he got fascinated by various guitar geniuses leaving a mark on his individual style. Santana, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucia, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton as well as Joe Pass, Steve Lukather, Mike Stern and Scott Henderson – to name a few. Later on Paul studied at the Academy of Music in Rotterdam (Rotterdams Conservatorium), followed master classes with Pat Metheny and Garrison Fewell. He had the privilege of attending a number of private lessons and master classes given by Joe Pass (also known from his collaboration with Ella Fitzgerald).

The idea for the album arose when Paul was relaxing with some friends at a beach bar in Scheveningen (Holland). They were playing lounge music. Paul liked the vibe of the sound, but nothing was really happening musically. That was the moment, when he decided to make similar music but featuring his Gibson L5 jazz guitar.

The track’s warm, homogeneous sounds are a fine representation of the abiding mood of the album as a whole, both soulful and groove-laden. With a sparkling joy for playing Paul Eerhart & his band represent of what is possible with a well-played instrument. Paul’s beautifully textured song writing and production draw on his musical heritage as much as it break new ground. So let your mind get bended and step into the groove with Paul’s Jazz Lounge…
