In the early 21st century, Northbound was formed with the intention to create beautiful, soulful instrumental music with a homegrown feel. After a few years in the university of trial and error their music began to find its shape, in a colourful style that some people refer to as combination of trip hop, downtempo, jazz and folkish acoustic pop. Their first songs have received a very positive response, and have since then been heard on few (mainly finnish) radio stations, on many compilations, some tv-shows and on the soundtrack of various snowboarding films.
Northbound have released their debut album “Landscapes Of Nowhere” on Lemongrassmusic in April 2012 and now come up with the very promising successor “Driftwood” in November 2014.
