Welcome to Volume 1 of TAWO’s Tea Time EP series. TAWO is German producer Alexander Ranft from Bad Mergentheim and is happy to present his 3rd release on the label Lemongrassmusic. On this first volume of the EP series the listener will be lead through a broken love with its emotions, its nostalgia and finally its fight to break free and breathe new air again: “I pick up the pieces, if this is war, I don’t think I can fight it, had to let you go, let it flow, cryin’…”. The main influences on the EP are LoFi Hip Hop, Downtempo and Witch House. “Black Stoned Island” is the first album by German producer and musician TAWO (alias Alexander Ranft) and was produced during the Covid 19 quarantine in early 2020. Alex had the plan to spend his holidays together with his family on Lanzarote (Canary Islands), because his parents live there and he has a special relationship to this beautiful and unique island. Due to the quarantine it was not possible to go there, so he started to make this musical dream travel to Lanzarote and cached the vibe that he receives from this island.
Due to the fact that this album marks the birth of a new music project, Alex made an endless life circle out of it. The album starts with the song “Birth / Grow Up” up and ends with the song “Leaving Earth / Death” and has 8 songs in total. 8 stands for infinity, so it represents the only thing that is eternal on this earth: Life, life in itself…
