Lemongrassmusic present the 9 tracks album “Gala” by Italian musician and producer Corrado Saija. “Gala” is a collection of Corrado’s songs from the past two years.
It is a palette of his most recent Exotilounge sound, touching on different musical genres as if wanting to show off himself, exactly like at a social party.
However, the name “Gala” comes from an old watch he has received as a gift from his grandfather.
This clock never worked but it inspired Corrado in the art of making small clocks which are his musical pieces.
The pieces for Corrado are like small worlds, devices where all the gears are related and contribute to the same goal like the mechanisms of a clock.

Rhetorical figures, like literary ones, are expressive devices used in the composition that have a very ancient origin. The hypotyposis is a rhetorical figure that plays a particular role because it includes others. The word “hypotyposis” means “draft” or “sketch” and is used to indicate something described in its essential features, which ends up having a greater expressive force by virtue of it.
Each track on this album investigates one or more of these particular figures in the attempt to realize a sort of musical painting.

Lemongrassmusic present the joint venture album by Italian musicians and producers Corrado Saija and Giorgio Presti. The 7 tracks album “Hypster Calling” was born from the collaboration between two longtime friends. Corrado and Giorgio have known each other since high school and immediately worked together to create sound art and sound installations. Besides a common passion for art, the two friends have always been sharing the passion for electronic music by deciding to specialize, in their studies, in similar or even complementary fields.
“Hypster Calling” is the result of a recent collaboration that has started from Corrado’s idea of creating a record inspired by the Italian library music of the 60s and 70s.
The album is a roundup of different musical genres, which winks at Pop as well as Electronic and Lounge music, always remaining inbetween. The album features two collaborations with the Milanese singer Vanelitne.

The EP „Indigo“ is the 7th release by Italian musician and producer Corrado Saija on the label Lemongrassmusic.
Indigo is a color and nothing more than a suggestion that allows Corrado to trace a “fil rouge” between some different musical styles, revisited in a minimal key.
On this 6 tracks album there is a good blend of exoticism, poetic forays and enigmatic soundscapes.
“Indigo” is made of silences, which invites the listeners to build their own sound worlds because it evokes them, without making them too explicit.
On “Dove Sei?” Corrado was accompanied by vocalist Eliana Gambaretti.

“La Grande Illusione” is a title borrowed from a poem by Giovanni Peli of which some words and guitars can be heard in the passage. It is an ambient song inspired by the vision of a sunset after a sunny afternoon on the seas.

Poncho Belleri contributed guitars to the track “Kura Kura” – a tribute to the tradition of the Amazonian Curanderi. The song is a mixture of various styles, all more or less from Central and South America.

“Saahan”is a distortion of “sahan” which is a Turkish word used to indicate a particular type of dish.
The song is vaguely dance and has a slight ethnic flavor. Not much happens in the piece but its essentiality invites the user to complete the atmosphere, playing a musical instrument for example.

“Noise Studies” is a testimony of Corrado Saija’s interest for the use of noises in music, paying attention to the multitude of electronic music aesthetics.
This wonderful EP is not certainly an easy listening release, also because it’s a sort of concept album that wants to express a wide range of possible utilizations. For the author it bears different qualities of noise in music, for example intrinsic in the sound of voice like in “Studio sulla Voce”, or in the way to treat a voice electronically, like in the stunning piece “Elmegyeck” (made with the Italian singer Angela Scalvini) or in the ambiguity between musical instruments and noises that you can find in the granular world of electric hum (La scena degli angeli).
Corrado explains to us that this album is a collection of some of his works made for the theatre or sound installations – for example “La Scena deli Angeli” and “Medea” that were composed for the scene of a contemporary ballet inspired by ancient tragedy, or “Il Museo della Follia” which was a proposal for an interactive museum exhibition.
You will find this EP is a more than interesting release that takes you on an audio-visual journey and creates an outstanding atmosphere beyond what regular music can do.

Corrado Saija presents his new EP which is dedicated from his heart to the beautiful Bougainville plant – a big love even from his days of childhood in Italy.
For a long time he had planned to start a Lounge project named „Bougainville“, but as years went by he now decided that an EP with this title could be sufficient for the moment.
Unlike the predecessor „Settembre“ which he had created in a “blue sugar paper” atmosphere of noisy sound Corrado now has concentrated on smooth and clear sonority and on introducing a classic downbeat style.

Settembre (september) is a “flash album” that was written in a month on the terrace of a hotel on the Aeolian Islands. This album was done with few technical resources such as a computer, an electric piano and a pair of headphones.
For that reason Settembre can be considered an album that is perfectly aligned with the digital era in which we live, characterized by a huge presence in our life of electronic devices that, on the one hand depleting our life transforming it in a sort of “virtual simulacrum”, on the other hand allow us creative possibilities that till now were exclusive of the “experts”, such as musical industry for example.

Settembre is an attempt to make the music “in the manner” of a North European style in between minimalism, noise aesthetic and ambient, on the other hand it is an act of love towards the Aeolian Islands and especially the island of Salina, which Corrado Saija considers his second home.
He always wanted to write songs that reminded him of the atmosphere of Salina in September when the blinding sun and the warm of August begin to break down giving way to cloudy skies obscuring the sea and make it frizzy and rough.
Anyway this intime and relaxing atmosphere founded after the crowds of the Italian summer is altered by amazing sunny days where the fixity bright blue of the Aeolian horizons is something extraordinarily evocative for him.
For choosing the titles Corrado let fascinate himself by the idea of being the author of a novel in the decision-making of chapter titles, so he imagined a drama that spoke of these places and found names that are referring to events and people of the island.

The EP is Corrado’s first release on Lemongrassmusic and is available in most digital download stores worldwide from March 29th 2013.
