Café Electronique is the first of a series of music volumes by Dee C’rell, which are exclusively recorded and released for label Lemongrassmusic. As an active musician and composer since the primary years of the American and UK dance scene, amongst other genres, Dee C’rell is no stranger to electronic music making. Now known for his creative output within a vast array of music making and education, he turns his attention to an eclectic set of compositions that creates volume 1 of the Café Électronique series.
„Sleepy Shuttle“ is a compilation of songs that combine elements of folk and electronic music. Song structures meet loop aesthetics. Acoustic and electronic sounds merge. The works contained on his debut EP „Molecular Cloud“ are the first steps of a young, promising musician who is carefully searching for new sounds from all over the world but especially from the streets of Istanbul. In his early twenties he is trying to build his own, eclectic style and trusts nothing but his own ears.

CAPA is a Chillout project by Norwegian composer Vidar Nord, a producer with an extensive background in songwriting for artists and music production for advertising, television and film. This project is particularly based upon voice manipulation, it’s about finding unique phrases or sounds when the calculated is being twisted and bent to the uncalculated. Changing conventional ideas around form and structure into a synthetic soundscape.

On this album Dub Mars carries on the concept of the first album, coming up with 15 unique and many-folded vocal tracks. The music has a true Electronica and Dub feeling with lots of modern impact. C.Cil (alias Cécile Maestre from Paris, France) is a musician, a singer and a dancer. Movement and dance is what inspires her and it is what she visualizes when composing her music. For her the music is the result of body movements, an emotion, a virtual “curve” which she tries to recreate and imitate with sounds, voices, words… like an imaginary breath… a musical choreography.
This album was born of the true spirit of playing with music – with easiness and playful creativity – remembering some instances of European “Nu Jazz” and “Downtempo” sound with a slight taste of Detroit’s „Garage“.
